Let's have a walk to see big lime trees near Pierre Marcel's studio
|
I live in Gisancourt. To go to my art studio I take that road everyday, going to Saint Clair sur Epte via Guerny.

My collectors will easily see the motifs I frequently paint : poppies, trees, weat fields, French roads. All is there! |

Latin name TILIA I am unsure of the English translation "LIME" This tree has the reputation
to have the best cast shaddow. To have a nap or a drink with friends under it's
shade is most romantic. Sun light goes through, it is not a deep and cold
shaddow, it is "light", peacefull. "l'ombre légère des tillieuls" is a french sentence about that specific
tree (wich are the ones growing in Gisancourt yard)
In Guerny, the village next to mine, very tall "tilleuls" grow above a wall. I painted the illustration of the say about the shadow: here the stones from the wall are flaotting in the shape of the shadoow casted by the tree |
