Having Fan at the Beach

April 1994

Acrylic on canvas 22" x 28" (56 x 71 cm)
Private collection: Harding. Miami Beach 1994

Story: As an incorrigible Frenchy I pronounce "fan" (ceiling fans) the same way as "fun" (having Fun). I still have to think very hard tell the difference. This, and my own experience of laborious family outings at the beach with small children make me think about this painting. Ceiling fans have been a recurrent little theme through my work. Examples: Apres l'amour,  Florida wildlife.

I always leave one wobbling in the studio, just for... fun.  Marcel.mpg (video clip in press page).
