Strawberryfield forever
acrylic on linen canvas, 4 x 4 ft
June 2001,
painting available

I set up my easel in a  jardin ouvrier** in Normandy.
Each gardener has a strawberry patch, sometimes growing wild
I was called then to continue my roads series , relating to the so called
baby boomer's spleen.
The two paintings bellow are a take from
Abbey Road and the song Strawberry Fields forever.
It was not too difficult, being in Normandy, to convey a sort of English foggy romantic gloom

Strawberry Fields Forever (Lennon/McCartney) November 1966

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry Fields forever.

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn't matter much to me.
Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry Fields forever.

No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low.
That is you can't you know tune in but it's all right, that is I think it's not too bad.
Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry Fields forever.

Always, no sometimes, think it's me, but you know I know when it's a dream.
I think I know I mean a 'Yes' but it's all wrong, that is I think I disagree.
Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry Fields forever.

Straberry Fields

Acrylic on canvas linen, around 50 x 65 centimeters
Private collection, Boston.

I found this John Lennon lyric trough The Ted Goranson's Beatle Study Site and the numerous links that he proposes. This site collects some study sources related to the Beatles
