There is an exercise that most painters do some day: a painting about life.

Burnt matches are personal events that have occurred in the past but enlighten who you are now. There is no flame to the candle, however, light is emanating from the vibrating gathering of the burnt matches. The personal qualities of a soul are made up of many little actions, thoughts and experiences that happened long ago and build up one's life glow. Many opportunities are still awaiting proper use, as matches ready to burst into flame. We may just need to take them  one by one, day by day. We could contemplate with remorse the lost ones, the piling up of the scorched debris of our life, but it is too late. Some memories are simply pleasant, some are greatly satisfying, and our modest candle illuminates the darkness of infinity.
