My
earlier work in South Beach:
|
•Cigars
What began as a drab decorative
assignment for an upscale cigar shop in
the new Moscow City Hall turned into an
inspired series of fanciful paintings. |
•Ice-cream
I decorated a great Ice cream
parlor in South Beach with 16 paintings
on the theme of Ice cream |
•Art Deco series
Having just arrived
in South Beach at the cusp of the historical
Art Deco district revival, I was naturally
driven to play with these cake-like buildings.
. . |
•Salvador
Doily A
play on words - doily in French means napperons à gâteau, the little ornate piece of white
paper under cakes - Do you see the dog under
the carpet?. . . |
•Miscellaneous Some of the best earlier stand
alone paintings. |
Ongoing
series: |
•Matches
Every relationships
begins, if not with a spark, at least with
a match. |
•Roads The Hit the Road series.
"mid-life
spleen".
|
•Hearts
Love, relationships,
and... some humor too. |
•Golf Doing this new series, at spare
time, has given me a chance to exercise
on the greens of my imagination, breathe
some fresh air, and socialize a bit. |
Now,
in France: |
•Spring 2000
I arrived in France in February
2000, with the idea to paint other than
Florida palms. But in the view of the devastating
Christmas 1999 storm which had destroyed
thousands of trees and forever altered the
French landscape, I was mesmerized. |
•The apples
Apples, and the
story of Eden have always captured my imagination.
While residing in Normandy during spring
2000, the apple (cider) orchards provided
fertile fruit for a delicious reawakening. |
