Single Scoop Silver Spoon Moon

One of the 15 pieces I painted in 1992 for the Frieze Ice cream shop on Lincoln Road Mall, Miami Beach.

Story:

Those who knew South Beach in the glorious pioneers years would remember my first decorative work, the Wet Paint Cafe, on Lincoln Road Mall. That were I met Chef Michael B, a carpenter-writer-new Miami cuisine innovator and most of all a dedicated New Yorker. In 1993, he dished out this delightful poetry for my painting "moon spoon":

Single Scoop Silver Spoon Moon

Emanating sweet coolness, a rich silver moon rests gently on a silver service dish as eager silver spoons orbit in anticipation of unearthly delights. Pierre Marcel's surrealistic vision conjures images as close and palatable as a cool scoop of ice cream on a hot summer afternoon, yet as distant and untouchable as heavenly bodies. Why did we ever think it was made of cheese?

By loyalty to them I won't be able to make for you a similar job. I will have to come up for you with a completely different concept. Not to worry, I have plenty of good ideas....if you have, like them, plenty of super good ice cream!
