e & 100%

I am an art student at Monmouth college in Monmouth,IL. Just recently I was in the gallery and I was talking to a fellow student, I was stressing out as I normally do about everything (especially art). We began to joke about what it would take to make us feel a 100%. Although we were joking around, I thought to myself all the things that I thought I needed to happen in order to make me feel a that good. As I was sorting though my thoughts on this, the student that I was talking to spoke up and said "Ice Cream." I was amazed. I still find this to consume the majority of my spare time thinking about what she had said. The idea that all this person was missing was something as simple as ice cream. how cool would that be if all it took to make me complete was some ice cream. The subject to my new painting is ice cream. As I was researching different styles of ice cream art to see if any were the style that i was looking for to help me express my feelings in my new painting.
Art Decone was almost the exact thing I was looking for. The surreal look at this ice cream cone with only the massive cone in front of a bright blue sky says it all. Although the melting building does not go into my idea, this painting gives me something to work with in terms of developing my own surreal ice cream cone. The quote by Jim Tommaney "Let the sweet taste of leisure linger on your tongue. Yesturday is gone, tomarrow is unknown, savor the melting moment" says it all. I am writting this to say that this piece has inspired me to follow though with my painting.
