Recent paintings have depicted a cigar burned to ash from end to end, with a Cohiba band perfectly intact; or, a cigar burning from both ends; or cigars bundled together with asparagus or morphing into leeks. Other earlier works on display at the gallery in either the original or print versions, include "Salvador Doily" which shows a beach on which breaking waves are transformed into perfect lace edge lifted up as though one might be able to peek under it.

All work old, new or in progress, is for sale. Prices range from a dollar for postcard reproductions to thousands for large canvases. Marcel, born near Giverny, France came here in 1986, at 32...

"I had no idea where I was going. I actually thought Miami was an island in the Pacific. I only knew for sure that there would be palm trees"

You can catch this geographically challenged individual painting in front of his gallery on most weekends...

Check it out at 420 Espanola Way, Phone: 305-672-5305.
