Story:
In January 2000,
I was entirely dedicated to the Valentine's Day show
scheduled at the Blu Dog café-gallery in Espanola
Way, Miami Beach.
The texture of this painting prefigures
the lighter brushwork Ill be experimenting later in France.
I am departing slightly from the usual neat-and-clean
but considerably time consuming technique that made my paintings
appreciated by my collectors from the States. To their dismay,
I am becoming more influenced now (I am writing this
in January 2003) by the French impressionism. There
is an incredible excitement to be able to lift up some "pieces
of reality" * with the ease of only two or
three touches of the brush. May be it is what we call "Le
Metier"?
Anyway, let me mention that there
is a mini-print gift available with this splendid heart-image,
at the Marcel Gallery in Miami Beach.
See the prints
collection.
*A take from a
recent e-mail from Hector Obalk, eminent French art-critic,
who charitably blamed me for my sins, and advised
me to try "using the light to reveal pieces
of reality" ("reveler des morceaux de réalité").Your comments are welcome, and I can
always use some good advises!
